The service, which is set to be launched in July 2013, uses the new Universal Wallet API from Cardinal offering a single point connection to several digital wallets.
The companies are targeting the main inhibitor of mobile purchases, namely thumb-typing through checkout. Using Cloud Wallet Service, mobile retailers can accept any kind of cloud wallet their buyers want to use. According to Keith Lietzki, Vice President/Co-Founder of Unbound Commerce, cited by online media outlet About-Payments, Unbound’s Cloud Wallet Service will enable retailers to accept the online wallet of their buyer’s choice.
The new service launches with support for PayPal, Amazon, Google Wallet, V.me by Visa, MasterPass by MasterCard, Payfone One Touch Checkout on Verizon devices and Sprint Mobile Wallet.
CardinalCommerce enables authenticated payment transactions in the electronic commerce and remote commerce markets. The company is active in the US, Europe and Africa.
