CRDB Bank introduces new service for online payments, online booking

African commercial bank CRDB Bank has introduced an e-commerce service, aimed at enabling consumers to make online payments and gain access to online booking services.

According to CRDB Bank’s director of alternative banking channels, Joseph Witts, cited by online media outlet ippmedia.com, currently the service is on trial and is set to become operational by July 2012. The company has also revealed plans to upgrade its internet banking outreach to enable customers gain access to a new range of services.

In Africa, Tanzania will be the fourth country to operate under the newly introduced system after Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria.
