The newly-announced offering is set to enable online merchants to carry out payments through a single connection to a payment gateway, merchant account services or outsourced payment programs.
Digital River World Payments service is based on a modular approach and is set to offer three payment programs, such as payment advance, payments stream and payment source. These programs combine merchant account services with a set of local payment methods, fraud detection, back office and check out services. Moreover, they include an outsourced payments program designed to offer distribution and reseller services, as well as local payment acceptance. In addition, the three programs can be used alone, together, as well as paired with other added value services.
Digital River World Payments product suite combines Digital River’s e-commerce service with global payments provider Netgiro’s gateway, back office services and vertical market focus. Digital River acquired Netgiro in 2007.
Digital River World Payments service is expected to offer payment options in 190 countries and over 170 transaction and display currencies.
