Monday 23 July 2012 08:11 CET | News

UAE-based telecom operator Etisalat has upgraded its PCI DSS certification for the Etisalat Payment Gateway.

The validation audit was conducted by Paladion, a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), recognized by PCI Security Standard Council. Based on the assessment, Paladion certified Etisalats compliance with PCI-DSS V2.0 as a payment service provider

PCI DSS is a multifaceted security standard that includes requirements for security management, policies, network architecture, software design and other data protection measures. They enable companies that process data for debit, credit, prepaid, e-purse, ATM and POS cards to handle cardholders` information. The certification meets the international standards set by the PCI Council organisation.

In recent news, Etisalat has entered an agreement with UK-based Telefonica Digital, a business division of mobile services provider Telefonica, to develop business opportunities in M2M, financial services and device procurement.
