The newly introduced platform is aimed at eliminating cash as the primary means of payment. FNB Botswana has also received a commerce license from Visa. The license allows the banks’ merchants to accept Visa card payments for goods and services bought via internet. Currently the Visa debit and credit card are available on their websites as a form of payment.
FirstPay has been developed in collaboration with its technology partner Virtual Card Services, a provider of global pay and mobile transaction services for consumers around the world.
