giropay partners Deutsche Post DHL to enable online payments

German online banking-based online payment services provider giropay has been integrated into DHL Checkout, an order processing service developed by German logistics group Deutsche Post DHL, to enable the latter’s customers to make online payments.

DHL Checkout, a payment system with integrated order processing, provides a series of customer services from ordering and payment, to shipment tracking and delivery via DHL Parcel.

giropay is a joint project of German retail bank Deutsche Postbank, the Sparkassen financial group and the IT departments of the Volksbanks and Raiffeisen banks. giropay is also accepted via online payment systems such as PayPal and ClickandBuy or directly in the online shops of vendors .

In 2010, giropay has seen its transaction volume increase by 26 percent compared to 2009.
