GoCardless releases the PayLinks service

Friday 1 June 2012 09:44 CET | News

GoCardless, an online payment platform backed by venture company Accel Partners, has launched the PayLinks service which enables any business or person to collect one-off, regular and pre-authorised payments online via a shareable link.

To collect a payment, a user has to enter an amount and a description and GoCardless will generate a URL, dubbed PayLink, which the user can share across the web. PayLinks can be embedded on users’ websites as a ‘Buy now’ button, emailed out to customers with invoices, or tweeted to followers. To make a payment, a payer clicks the link and enters their payment details into a payment page. PayLinks can be used by anyone including e-commerce websites, charities, contractors, friends who want to share bills. Earlier in 2012, the company has also launched a REST API wrapper for bank transfers.
