Imperial Parking Canada partners Visa Canada for Visa Debit, payWave contactless payments

Tuesday 31 January 2012 14:21 CET | News

Visa Canada has entered an agreement with North American parking management company Imperial Parking Canada to deliver Visa payWave contactless payments to 72 of the latter’s attended parking facilities across Canada.

In addition, Canadian Impark customers, who manage their accounts online, will now be able to pay their fees and balances using Visa Debit. Customers using Imparks Pay by Phone functionality will be able to use their bank account in combination with the service. At participating lots, consumers can use their mobile devices or access the internet to pay for parking. Billing is automatic and consumers can access and receive reports online or by email.

Visa payWave platform is based on EMV chip technology, which uses a standard 128-bit encryption technology which enables it to store and encrypt confidential information. Once a customer uses a Visa payWave terminal, the card or mobile device and the terminal exchange security information and the transaction is completed.
