Ingenico, AviIT and OnAir join forces to combat credit card fraud in the airline industry

Thursday 19 November 2009 08:18 CET | News

French transactions and payments solutions company Ingenico has partnered IT-based services developer AviIT and in-flight communications provider OnAir for the development of automated in-flight solutions that enable authenticated payment transactions via commercial satellite communications links.

The alliance aims at providing online authentication of the transactions to prevent credit card fraud prevention. Ingenico integrates its iPA280 Payment PDA with this solution, providing an EMV payment platform with POS capabilities running on Windows CE. Based on a combination between card payment and PDA functionality, the all-in-one iPA280 turns the sales environment into a mobile POS. This includes payment via instant access to online value added applications, from online databases and web based business applications to stock and timetable queries, GPS location services and order processing.
