Under the terms of the deal, Apigee will enable Ixaris to secure, control and manage its development platform for the rapid creation of payment applications. Ixaris Opn allows developers to combine and link to re-usable payment components called Paylets in order to create payment applications that do not require connection to a bank’s IT system. Developers can use the new platform to create payment applications that can incorporate various payment options such as Visa or MasterCard prepaid cards and bank transfers via the SWIFT network.
Ixaris develops global applications based on prepaid card schemes. Its payment applications provide access to electronic payments for consumers unwilling or unable to access credit card services.
