Jumio integrates NetSwipe payment service with WordPress websites

Friday 26 August 2011 00:00 CET | News

Online-payments startup Jumio has integrated its NetSwipe payment service with WordPress websites. NetSwipe is webcam-based credit card processing technology which enables businesses to make online and mobile credit card payments.

The new NetSwipe plugin enables bloggers to accept individual payments. Website visitors are able to pay for products, place donations, or even settle debts. The payment service is aimed at individuals who run a blog or website on WordPress.

NetSwipe works by holding up a credit card to a camera, where its details are recognized by Jumio`s software. The code on the back of the card is entered by PC mouse-clicking or smartphone touchscreen-tapping. Via videostreaming, the credit card details are recognized and verfied. No snapshot image is taken, no data is stored on the computer that is used for the payment. Jumio has rolled out the service in July 2011.
