Live Gamer, a US provider of commerce services for micro-transaction based businesses, has joined forces with Skrill, which operates the payment provider Moneybookers, to create a monetisation engine aimed at online game publishers.

By combining Moneybookers payments platform with Live Gamers total commerce service, Live Gamer Payments by Skrill provides game publishers and developers with a service which enables them to drive online revenues, as well as develop and manage digital item sales. Via the multi-platform service, publishers and developers will gain access to new markets with more than 100 payment methods in 200 countries.

Country-specific payment methods offered by Live Gamer Payments by Skrill include bank transfer and debit instruments, in addition to global credit/debit, mobile payments, prepaid cards and Facebook credits. Furthermore, Skrills digital wallet offers customers a password only payment method, tailored for micro payments. Settlement can be conducted in 41 local currencies.

“Continuing its theme of innovation, evolving to better meet the needs of customers, merchants and retail partners, Moneybookers recently rebranded to Skrill. Skrill better captures the ease and functionality of the company’s online payment suite which will continue to roll out through 2011 and Skrill will become shorthand for a safe and innovative way for customers to shop online with greater choice, flexibility, reliability and peace of mind”, Martin Ott, CEO of Skrill Holdings has stated in an exclusive interview with The Paypers.
