Microsoft introduces PayPal payment method for Xbox Live, US only

Monday 10 August 2009 00:32 CET | News

Microsoft has made the PayPal option available to its US Xbox Live service, gamesindustry.biz reports.

Xbox Live subscribers who do not want to use their credit cards for payments on the internet can now select the PayPal payment method when purchasing Microsoft Points, the currency used in the Xbox Live marketplace. The same source indicates that the service has been made available only through Xbox.com, not via the console itself, meaning that subscribers must have both a PayPal and a Xbox.com account to complete the transaction on the internet. Users must add a PayPal account to their payment methods in the same way they would add a credit card.

The service is currently available only in the US.
