Online game publisher NCsoft has closed an agreement with PlaySpan, a US-based provider of monetization services for online games, virtual worlds and social networks.

The agreement is meant to bring PlaySpan’s marketplace and UltimatePay platform to NCSoft’s fantasy MMO titles GuildWars, CityHeroes and Aion. PlaySpan’s UltimatePay powered MaaS platform combines a global payment gateway with subscription and e-commerce capabilities, an analytics dashboard and fraud management tools, all integrated into a PCI and SAS-70 compliant hosted service.

Publishers whose games, virtual currencies and digital goods are resold in the PlaySpan Marketplace include Aeria Games, GamersFirst, G4, Ntreev, Frogster (Runes of Magic), Gravity, CCP Games (EVE Online) and Joymax (Silk Road) and now NCsoft.

PlaySpan’s platform with its global payments product, UltimatePay delivers over 85 global payment methods in 180 countries including credit cards, PayPal, mobile payments and PlaySpan’s Ultimate Game Card, a multi-game pre-paid card, available in over 50,000 retail locations worldwide.

Most recently, Facebook has selected PlaySpan, a US-based provider of monetization services for online games, virtual worlds and social networks, to expand the distribution of its Facebook Credits worldwide.
