Ocado selects DataCash for secure online payments

Wednesday 17 April 2013 11:08 CET | News

Global payment services provider DataCash (part of the MasterCard group) has entered a two-year contract with online retailer Ocado, to provide security services for the latter’s customers.

As part of the new contract, Ocado has integrated the DataCash Secure Hosted Card Capture solution, enabling its customers to pay for their orders using any brand of credit and debit cards whilst reducing the burden of PCI compliance on Ocado. DataCash’s tokenisation technology produces a unique ‘token’ for each customer’s card details, ensuring that the customer’s card details are not visible to or stored with Ocado, enabling customers to make repeat payments. In addition, DataCash’s tokenisation service, will allow Ocado’s returning customers to pay for their orders without having to input their full card details each and every time.

As part of the offering from DataCash, Ocado will continue to use 3-D Secure, an online authentication system for card payments developed by MasterCard to further help mitigate fraud.

DataCash Group provides multi-channel global payment processing services and fraud prevention and risk management solutions to merchants and banks. The company enables customers to accept and process payments in over 177 currencies, from over 45 brands across e-commerce, m-commerce channels and cardholder present channels.
