Paymill enters alliance with Sofort

Monday 8 July 2013 08:41 CET | News

Paymill, a Germany-based payments service provider, has entered a partnership with payment systems provider Sofort, to enable direct payment.

The start-up company allows online shops and service providers to integrate common payment methods in their platform. In the future, SOFORT Banking will also be available via this service.

Sofort Banking is becoming more and more important in the e-commerce business, increasingly replacing traditional payment methods such as cash in advance. This trend is also confirmed by the current ePayment Study 2013 carried out by the EHI Retail Institute.

More than 25,000 e-commerce retailers conduct more than 2 million transactions monthly using Sofort Banking / Sofort Überweisung. As well as Germany, the service can also be used in Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Poland and the UK.

Paymill integrates with a merchants website and does not require a customer to be redirected to make a payment. The company currently operates in 37 countries across Europe and has a particular emphasis on online card payments.
