PayNearMe to enable cash payments for Facebook Credits at 7-Eleven stores

Thursday 5 August 2010 11:30 CET | News

Online payments services provider PayNearMe has rolled out a payment system designed to enable Facebook game players to pay for Facebook Credits at 7-Eleven stores around the US.

The new payment option excludes the use of credit cards. Buyers have to print out a receipt for the Facebook Credits purchased online, show it to the clerk at the nearest 7-Eleven location, and pay with cash. Once the payment process has been completed, the Credits are instantly deposited into the user’s Facebook account.

Moreover, all PayNearMe users will receive a 10 percent bonus at the register. Currently, PayNearMe is on the process of developing a mobile application that will allow customers to show a digital barcode instead of printing a receipt at home.

Recently, Facebook has inked a distribution agreement with Asian payment services provider MOL to market its Facebook Credits via the latter’s network of stores.
