PayPal launches in Egypt and Lebanon

PayPal has introduced its services in Egypt and Lebanon, online media outlet Daily News Egypt unveils.

According to Mustafa Kamel Attia, the managing director of Link Online, a company that owns and operates a network of websites in the MENA, PayPal’s launch in the region is a positive addition to the market as it will reassure the people who are afraid of putting their credit card details online.

E-commerce in the MENA region has reached USD 9 billion in 2012 and is projected to reach USD 15 billion by 2015.

In recent news, PayPal has acquired US-based start-up Iron Pearl in order to serve and increase its more than 123 million active PayPal customers around the world.
