Thailand-based online payment services provider Paysbuy has made a commercial agreement with PayPal to allow its business members to offer PayPal at checkout as an additional payment option for cross-border payments.

Under the terms of the deal, international customers visiting Thai merchants websites can pay online via PayPal without disclosing their private financial information. Furthermore, Paysbuy business members can login to their Paysbuy account to check the status of their PayPal and Paysbuy payments from a single location.

PayPal is to charge the standard transaction fees when a payment is received. Apart from the newly-added PayPal, entrepreneurs based in Thailand can also accept local and global payment methods on their e-commerce platforms, such as credit cards, local ATM, bank and mobile phone payments. Paysbuy holds a 30 percent share in the Thai market and provides online payment services for more than 1,500 shops. According to thaipr.net, the value of payments made via Paysbuy reached EUR 6.47 million (THB 300 million) in 2008.
