PayU India launches PayUPaisa payment gateway

PayU India, an online payment company in the Indian e-commerce scenario has launched PayUPaisa.

PayUPaisa is a web-based product which facilitates an individual or a business to go online and start paying or collecting payments. By default every store on PayUPaisa has a payment gateway integrated in it (powered by PayU).

Targeting the 30 million SMB sellers in the country, and already collaborating with several online merchants in the retail and travel space, including Jabong, Snapdeal, Goibibo, the online payment portal is now looking at roughly 300 million people with bank accounts, 150 million internet users, 7 million online active buyers to use its services.

The portal is backed by the ibibo group, which in turn is backed by the Naspers group, a multinational mass media company, based out of South Africa.
