Qatar Central Bank releases QPAY gateway

Monday 6 February 2012 13:48 CET | News

Financial services provider Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has released a centralised gateway for e-payment to allow individuals, companies and public institutions to make payments online.

The newly launched service, which has been titled QPAY, enables consumers with no credit cards but who own bank accounts to pay for utility bills and school fees and also make payments for their purchases.

The centralised e-payment system will be made available via banks. Payments made by users via the QCB e-gateway will be directly debited from their accounts and credited into the beneficiary’s bank account.
For the last six months QCB has been running a trial to test the system.

Founded in 1964, Qatar National Bank offers a range of retail, corporate, investment, treasury, wealth management and Islamic banking products and services in Qatar as well as internationally.
