Singapore Airlines taps PayPal for online payment service

The airline company Singapore Airlines has entered a partnership with the global online payment services provider PayPal to enable its customers to pay for their air tickets via the latter’s online payment service, according to the online media outlet asia.cnet.com.

As part of the deal, PayPal enables Singapore Airlines customers to pay for tickets without revealing personal financial information. Customers are able to make payments via credit or debit cards and bank accounts connected to their PayPal account. PayPal supports Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards.

Singapore Airlines customers from the US, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Australia will be the first to benefit from the new online payment option.

PayPal registers over 94 million active users and provides its services in 190 markets and 24 currencies around the world. In a recent development , the Canadian loyalty program Points Global has signed up for PayPal’s online payment option to enable the former’s customers to turn airline miles into cash.
