SteelSeries selects PayNearMe to provide cash payment services

Monday 1 November 2010 11:27 CET | News

SteelSeries, a global manufacturer of gaming peripherals and accessories, has signed a deal with online payments services provider PayNearMe.

Under the terms of the contract, gaming consumers will be able to make product purchases on SteelSeries’ web shop and pay at any of over 6,000 7-Eleven retail locations across the US. The PayNearMe payments service excludes the use of credit or debit cards. Buyers have to print out a receipt for the products purchased online, show it to the clerk at the nearest 7-Eleven location and pay with cash. Once the payment process has been completed SteelSeries is notified and the customers order is processed and shipped.

Merchants can use PayNearMe with no integration. Alternatively, they can use PayNearMes development platform to enable customized application. Because the point of sale terminals at 7-Eleven stores are connected directly to PayNearMes systems, payees are notified when their consumer has paid. They may also instruct PayNearMe to print custom messages on consumers register receipts. These messages can be used to print gift codes, tickets, proof of insurance, loan statements as well as legal disclosures.
