The Jeanie Network selects Acculynk for online PIN debit

Thursday 17 June 2010 09:49 CET | News

The Jeanie Network, a US online shared ATM network owned and operated by Fifth Third Processing Solutions, has joined forces with payment services provider Acculynk to offer the latter’s internet PIN debit solution PaySecure, to Jeanie participants.

PaySecure requires the use of only a consumer’s existing debit card and bank-issued PIN. When paying with PaySecure at a merchant checkout, customers must enter their card number, expiration date and card verification number. After they submit the card information, PaySecures internet PIN debit service is able to detect whether a customers card can be used with a PIN. If this is possible, a graphical, scrambling PIN-pad appears on the computer screen and asks whether the customer would like to process the transaction as PIN debit. If yes, the customer must click continue and enter the PIN onto the PIN-pad using the mouse or touchpad. When finished, the client clicks continue and the transaction is processed.

Jeanie joins six other US EFT networks that have announced adoption of PaySecure. Over 1,000 online merchants, including Jelly Belly, Ace Hardware Outlet, AirTran, J.J. Buckley and ShoppersChoice are currently enabled with the PaySecure payment method.
