Adyen, the Netherlands-based global payment services company, has been selected by TheNextWeb (TNW), an international media company focusing on internet technology, business and culture, to provide payments support in the US.

Under the terms of the agreement, Adyen will enable TNW to offer payment in local currencies using 17 different payment methods across Europe, South America and North America, including credit cards, online banking (iDeal, Giropay, Sofort, etc.), e-wallets including Paypal, direct debits and bank transfers.

In addition, Adyen also provides payments support for several other TNW companies, including Paydro.net, Twitter Counter, Qwitter, Kingsofcode.

In 2012, Adyen has processed more than USD 10 billion in online, mobile and point-of-sale payments transactions worldwide via its multi-channel payments platform. Adyen supports 187 transaction currencies, 14 settlement currencies and 224 preferred local payment methods used on six continents.

In recent news, Adyen has unveiled that Lebara, a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) for foreign nationals, has gone live on the Adyen payment platform across its online and mobile-optimised websites in the UK, with further rollout to follow in Germany, France and Spain.
