Thomas Cook selects Wirecard for payment acceptance

Tuesday 15 May 2012 08:34 CET | News

Travel agency Thomas Cook has selected Wirecard, a German provider of electronic payment and risk management services, for credit card acceptance.

Under the terms of the deal, Thomas Cook’s clients can pay for travel packages, comprising hotels and flights and other services using a credit card on the Wirecard Payment Page.

Customers can combine their Lufthansa flights with a broad hotel offering from Thomas Cook with the new online offering www.lufthansaholidays.com. The portfolio comprises more than 140 airports and around 8,000 hotels in 1,000 vacation locations around the world.

Once customers have decided on their trip, they will be transferred for payment to the PCI-certified Wirecard Payment Page. If bookings are made by e-mail or telephone, an employee inputs the data manually using Wirecard’s virtual terminal.

Wirecard is an international provider of electronic payment and risk management services. Worldwide, the Wirecard Group supports over 12,000 companies from various industry segments in their efforts to automate their payment processes and minimize cases of default.
