Monday 13 October 2014 13:15 CET | News

Twitter has teamed up with French banking group Groupe BPCE to enable French Twitter users to tweet money to their followers.

As per the agreement, S-money, a division of Groupe BPCE, will offer the service which will be available to anyone with a bank account and a Twitter handle in France. The company did not reveal whether the transaction would be kept private, or visible to other people.

Recently, Twitter launched its own “buy” button, to allow people to purchase products directly from a tweet, with its payments enabled by San Francisco-based start-up Stripe.
