Ukash partners Shoprite for expansion into South African market

Ukash, the UK voucher-based prepaid online payment services provider, has entered an agreement with Shoprite, a retail and fast food company, to enable consumers in South Africa to buy Ukash vouchers from 560 supermarkets and hypermarkets.

As a result of the deal, Ukash vouchers will be made available in all Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper stores across South Africa. Customers can obtain Ukash vouchers in denominations ranging between R50 and R1500 from the stores Money Market counter in-store and also pay their bills, buy airtime and prepaid electricity while they shop.

In March 2010, Ukash joined forces with Rocalix to make its e-vouchers available on the Bolivian market. Ukash is available at more than 420,000 physical issuing points and spans 30 countries.
