French online retailer Cdiscount has inked a contract with Verizon, a broadband and telecommunications company, to make its electronic payment-processing platform compliant with international payment card industry data security standards.

Under the terms of the partnership, Verizon will provide Cdiscount with a range of security services including compliance to PCI DSS.

Verizon also offers security services such as governance, risk and compliance solutions, data loss and prevention services and identity management services.

Cdiscount has over 10 million registered users across France, with the company’s online retail site, cdiscount.com, reaching 800,000 visitors and handling 30,000 orders daily, on average. Cdiscount processes and manages all payments using its own payment platform, which it also offers as a payment-processing provider to other companies.
