VNPT rolls out e-payment services

Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has launched two electronic payment services.

Via its subsidiary, Vietnam Data Communication Company(VDC), VNPT has launched an online payment service called iCoin. Available at an exchange rate of USD 0.005 per coin, the new service allows customers to load funds from various countries and then use the iCoin balance in order to pay for services and commodities provided by VNPT or by any third party which cooperates with VNPT. Consumers can recharge their account via the Mobifone and Vinaphone cards, bank account transfer, SMS, postpaid phone invoice as well as at the local post offices.

Initially, iCoin can be used for payments on the Megaplus online portal and Buyme portal as well as for other partner services. The company plans to expand the functionality to other services and products of VNPT as well.

Moreover, VNPT has launched in partnership with financial services provider Vietinbank the MegaPayment e-wallet service designed to support users in making transactions via e-commerce websites. The main functions of the MegaPayment applications include charging via online/offline channels, money transfers between MegaPayment accounts or to banks, making payments for online services as well as postpaid mobile bills.
