Walmart has launched Walmart2World, powered by the international money transfer service MoneyGram.

Walmart2World is a platform that allows customers to send money from Walmart in the US to any MoneyGram agent location in 200 countries. In 2014, the company introduced Walmart2Walmart, a domestic money transfer service with low fees.

The new service is scheduled to launch in all of Walmart’s 4,700 US stores later in April 2018. The key features of the global wire service offering:

  • Pricing structure: USD 4 to send up to USD 50, USD 8 to send USD 51 to USD 1,000, and USD 16 to send USD 1,001 to USD 2,500;

  • Exchange rates: the company aims to ensure that customers receive a competitive foreign exchange rate when transferring money;

  • Delivery within minutes to worldwide network: Walmart2World delivers funds in 10 minutes or less, whether the receiver opts to pick up the money at any one of MoneyGram’s agent locations in 200 countries, or an international bank or mobile wallet account.

In addition to saving money, customers using Walmart2World can also use Mobile Express Money Services in the Walmart App. Customers initiate their transfer from the Walmart App, and fast-track through the Mobile Express Lane to complete their transaction. Receipts and transaction details are saved electronically, helping in the case of future transactions.
