Dutch financial services company ABN AMRO has renewed its partnership with Netherlands-based payment processing company Equens until 2015.

Under the extended transaction processing contract, Equens will provide EMV debit card issuing services to ABN AMRO’s cardholders as well as process the bank’s domestic giro transactions, European transfers (SEPA Credit Transfer) and European direct debits (SEPA Direct Debit). ABN AMRO previously concluded a contract with Equens for the processing of domestic payments (PIN and Chipknip) and SEPA payment products (Maestro, V-Pay).

Most recently, US central banking system The Federal Reserve Banks has entered a partnership with Equens to process automated payments via a Transatlantic channel.
