AJB integrates PayPal in-store checkout at Guitar Center Retail chain

Tuesday 20 November 2012 11:00 CET | News

US-based payment integration software services provider AJB Software Design has integrated PayPal into the point-of-sale system at Guitar Center, a music gear retailer with over 235 retail outlets across the US.

AJB’s Retail Transactions Switch (RTS) provides the framework for processing PayPal in-store transactions, allowing consumers to make PayPal payments. PayPal is currently available in all Guitar Center locations.

The RTS switch provides processing and authorization of PayPal transactions at Guitar Center. Once a shopper uses their mobile device, plus PayPal PIN or PayPal payment card and PIN, the transaction gets routed to RTS for authorization and then back to PayPal and RTS for confirmation.

AJB’s payment processing application suite also includes Flexible Integrated Payment System (FIPay). FIPay provides the in-store system component responsible for integrating the PIN pad device into First Data’s DCC solution.

In recent news, PayPal has entered an agreement with FiftyOne Global Ecommerce, a provider of global e-commerce solutions to support PayPal’s global online and mobile payments in 18 currencies.
