Irish financial institution Allied Irish Banks (AIB) has entered a partnership with Sentenial, a payment technology provider, to offer the Origix payment management service to AIB’s business customers in Ireland.

Via the Origix service, AIB is able to initiate SEPA payments using legacy format and to allow businesses to switch to the new Pan-European Direct Debit scheme (SEPA). Origix includes three modules which cover the migration of legacy mandates into the SEPA format, ongoing mandate management and the generation of SEPA Direct Debits and Credit Transfers.

In recent news, the European Payments Council (EPC) and the Cards Stakeholders Group have released the latest version of the SEPA Cards Standardisation Volume– Book of Requirements for public consultation.
