Telecommunications provider The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) has inked an agreement with Aptilo Networks, a global provider of pre-integrated services for the control of billing, user services and access in wireless networks.

Under the new partnership, BTC will be able to offer a wireless service through a Wi-Fi mesh network across the region. Hosted on the Aptilo Service Management platform and powered by First Atlantic Commerce (FAC), an internet multi-currency payment and fraud risk services provider, the service is set to provide the BTC customers with billing and credit card processing capabilities.

Moreover, the Aptilo platform is set to provide BTC’s customers with additional options such as pricing plans for access to pay-for-use services. BTC will also be able to associate price plans to a specific location or provide a multi location service plan through Aptilo’s location-based and roaming features. The Aptilo Service Management platform incorporates various capabilities such as delivery, administration, billing control and monitoring. The system integration was provided by telecommunication services company Alcatel-Lucent.

FAC supports a PCI-certified payment gateway that offers a range of credit card processing and alternative payment options to online merchants across the globe.
