Financial services provider Banco de Venezuela (BDV) has partnered Wincor Nixdorf, a global provider of transaction and payment services for the banking and retail markets, to expand its ATM network by 500 machines and also to upgrade its software applications.

The installation is set to begin on October 2012 and is scheduled to be completed in six months.

In a pilot project in 2011, Banco de Venezuela has installed 140 ATMs with automated check deposit modules. Based on customer feedback, the bank has added a further 300 systems with check-deposit capability. The new multifunctional devices also enable self-service passbook transactions.

Apart from software applications to operate the systems, Banco de Venezuela is also updating the remote monitoring software solution for all of its installed systems. After this has been completed, the bank will monitor Banco de Venezuelas approximately 2,080 ATMs with Wincor Nixdorf’s ProView software.
