BankAtlantic to sell its 19 Tampa branches to PNC Bank

US financial institution BankAtlantic has entered an agreement with US financial services provider PNC Bank, member of The PNC Financial Services Group.

Under the terms of the deal, BankAtlantic has agreed to sell its 19 branches and 2 related facilities in the Tampa – St. Petersburg area and the associated deposits, counting nearly USD 350 million, to PNC.

The transaction is expected to close in June 2011 and is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary terms and conditions.
BankAtlantic counts over 79 branches in Southeast Florida.
