Barclaycard adds new payment terminals to Global Payment Acceptance product range

Monday 16 January 2012 00:05 CET | News

UK credit card, insurance and loan services provider Barclaycard has added two new payment terminals to its Global Payment Acceptance product range, using Internet Protocol (IP) and GPRS technology.

The terminal using IP technology is set to enhance transactions at retail stores across the UK. Additionally, more than one terminal can be plugged into the same broadband line at the same time and no dedicated phone line is required.

The mobile terminal using GPRS technology targets small businesses on the move and it uses a SIM card to access mobile networks.

In November 2011, Barclaycard partnered Visa to introduce contactless payment technology at the O2 arena in London.
