BBVA Bancomer to deploy MX ATM payment and cash dispensing kiosks from VeriFone

Mexican financial services provider BBVA Bancomer has teamed up with US secure electronic payment technology company VeriFone to deploy VeriFones MX ATM payment kiosks across Mexico.

BBVA Bancomer has announced plans to expand the deployment in 2010 to represent 10 percent of its ATM network footprint, an investment worth an estimated USD 10 million. The MX ATM payment kiosk can recycle cash deposits from individual consumers and retail receipts for cash withdrawals.

Bancomer is currently installing a customized version of the MX ATM at one of the largest drug store chains in Mexico. The pharmacy will be able to deposit daily cash receipts into the ATM, gaining access to real-time credit and reducing the need for security services to pick up cash deposits.

VeriFone’s MX ATM is a secure payment and cash dispensing kiosk, intended for environments such as hotels, department stores, night clubs, and enterprises. Merchants can install VeriFone MX ATM to dispense and/or deposit cash, and provide a variety of services including mobile phone top-ups, bill payments, money transfers, couponing, redemption and reloading of prepaid cards.
