Cedicam launches payment processing platform powered by Accenture

Monday 30 May 2011 11:03 CET | News

French electronic payment services provider Cedicam has launched a new payment processing platform powered by global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company Accenture. Cedicam is Credit Agricole Groups payment subsidiary, which provides its services to 58 million customers worldwide and has a network of 11,850 branches in over 20 countries.

Accenture was selected to implement the new IT platform for the group to process the collection of European payments under the SEPA Direct Debit scheme (SDD), as required by the European Commission and the French regulator. SEPA Direct Debit is a pan-regional cross-border direct debit instrument that aims to provide clients with a means to collect high volume payments in Europe.

As a result, Crédit Agricole’s new platform is set to centralize SEPA direct debit collections for Crédit Agricole’s several French regional IT payment systems and process payment transactions for the group’s banks.

In March 2011 , Cedicam and Dutch payment processing services company Equens inked a framework agreement to enter a commercial partnership. Cedicam and Equens set common goals to reduce unit processing costs, to be able to provide technical and commercial expertise and extend regional coverage.
