Belgium-based payments technology provider Clear2Pay has joined GlobalPlatform, a cross-industry association which identifies, develops and publishes specifications for the deployment and management of embedded applications on chip technology.

As participating member, Clear2Pay will contribute to GlobalPlatform’s Device Committee by providing input for the development of specifications for the Trusted Execution Environment (TEE). Furthermore, Clear2Pay will participate in the GlobalPlatform Compliance Program, which in 2012 will focus on developing the test tools to evaluate the functional compliance of a TEE product to GlobalPlatform Specifications.

In recent news, Clear2Pay has signed an agreement to acquire Level Four Software Holdings, a UK company providing development and test automation products for all types of ATM networks.

GlobalPlatform’s technical specifications are regarded as the international industry standard for building a trusted solution which serves multiple actors and supports several business models. The technology has been adopted globally across finance, mobile/telecom, government, healthcare, retail and transit sectors. Additionally, GlobalPlatform provides an open compliance program ecosystem to ensure the long-term interoperability of secure chip technology.
