Norwegian IT company EDB ErgoGroup has entered a seven-year agreement with Swedish financial services provider Bankernas Automatbolag that will enable the company to operate the 2,800 minibanks in Sweden.

Under the terms of the deal, EDB ErgoGroup is set to provide standardised services for the Bankernas Automatbolag ATMs. These services include administration, software management, transaction processing, settlement and operational monitoring. EDB ErgoGroup will take over responsibility for operating the ATMs belonging to the five largest banks in Sweden: Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Nordea, SEB and Swedbank. Bankernas Automatbolag will purchase services related to the operation of the ATMs on behalf of the five banks.

EDB ErgoGroup has delivered services for the minibanks operated by most Norwegian banks since the end of the 1970s. The company also provides operating services for minibanks in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Currently, EDB ErgoGroup serves 3,200 ATMs in Sweden.

The total agreement values USD 143.9 million (NOK 800 million). All 2,800 ATMs will become part of EDB ErgoGroups service concept for ATMs in 2012.
