Monday 25 June 2012 08:32 CET | News

Euronet Pakistan, a subsidiary of electronic financial provider Euronet Worldwide, has received PCI DSS security certification after an audit of its Pakistan operations, under PCI guidelines.

The validation audit was conducted by the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), PCI ASV and PA QSA Company, Risk Associates.

PCI DSS is a multifaceted security standard that includes requirements for security management, policies, network architecture, software design and other data protection measures. They enable companies that process data for debit, credit, prepaid, e-purse, ATM and POS cards to handle cardholders` information. The certification meets the international standards set by the PCI Council organisation.

In recent news, Euronet Pakistan has entered an agreement with MasterCard to become the latter’s third party processor for debit, credit and e-commerce transactions in Pakistan.
