Fidelity finalizes Metavante takeover

US card issuer and provider of transaction processing services for financial institutions Fidelity National Information Services (FNIS) has finalised its acquisition of Metavante Technologies, a provider of financial technology services, software and financial services regulatory advice and consulting.

Along with confirming the closure of the merger with Metavante, FNIS has also unveiled a new corporate logo and identity under the combined company name of FIS. The takeover agreement between the parties was initiated in early April 2009 and was worth an estimated USD 4.4 billion. According to company sources quoted by online news portal bizjournals.com, the new, combined FIS operates a portfolio made up of over 300 products and services.
