Netherlands-based digital security company Gemalto has expanded its range of MagIC3 of Point-Of-Sale (POS) terminals.

The MagIC3 W-1 product is a wireless payment device that can be used in restaurants and outdoor retail outlets. It is part of Gemalto’s MagIC3 product series and incorporates the Open&Sec technology running on Linux.

The MagIC3 product line leverages Internet Protocol (IP) technology and features Universal Serial Bus (USB) connections for instant plugging of peripherals such as cheque and barcode readers, WiFi dongles or electronic cash registers.

Furthermore, the MagIC3 W-1 terminal features an integrated Ethernet broadband connection to offer transaction security. Up to the present, a series of financial institutions from Europe and Asia have been deploying the MagIC3 W-1 terminal payments.
