HDFC Bank deploys credit decision engine from Polaris Software

Indian financial technology services company Polaris Software has entered an agreement with HDFC Bank to provide the latter with its Enterprise Business Rule Engine for the banks Retail Asset Lending service, which comprises auto and personal loans.

Polariss Intellect Business rule engine is a credit decision engine that enables Polariss customers to profile and segment customers for loan products. The system automates the process of filtering incorrect applications based on configurable and flexible pre-qualification checks. This results in the processing of a larger number of applications and credit offers.

The Intellect Business system is designed on SOA architecture that can be extended across the lines of business. Since it functions as a centralised business rule repository, it is set to provides HDFC Bank with the ability to view risk across a portfolio of products, therefore allowing for enhanced control and risk management.
