US-based payments processor Heartland Payment Systems has selected business intelligence (BI) software services provider MicroStrategy as its enterprise BI standard, replacing its SAP BusinessObjects installation.

Under the agreement, Heartland Payment Systems is set to expand its use of MicroStrategy to enhance the reporting and analytics provided to merchants. Consequently, Heartlands customers in the petroleum and convenience store industry, as well as internal customers across the Heartland organization, are set to use the BI platform.

MicroStrategy was founded in 1989 as a provider of enterprise software platforms for business intelligence, mobile intelligence and social intelligence applications.

In recent news, Heartland Payment Systems has made available its Mobuyle mobile payment service on Apple iOS mobile devices, enabling merchants to accept credit, debit and gift card payments via iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices.
