US electronic payment products, software solutions and services provider Hypercom has entered an agreement with German provider of technology services for vending and dispensing machines MCS MICRONIC Computer Systeme.

Under the terms of the deal, MCS has selected and will resell Hypercom’s high security Artema Modular self-service payment terminal to integrators and retailers in Germany. The German company, appointed Hypercom’s first Distribution Partner in Germany for self-service, plans to initially deploy at least 1,000 terminals.

Three regional rail transit operators in Germany currently use Hypercom’s Artema Modular self-service payment terminals with GPRS to speed ticketing in more than 370 trains serving over 200 million commuters and other travellers per year. The product enables pay at the pump in Portugal, and payment at on-street parking machines in the Belgian capital Brussels.
