Ingenico to acquire Hypercoms US payment systems business

Monday 4 April 2011 10:02 CET | News

French payment services provider Ingenico is set to acquire the US payment business of payment technology company Hypercom for USD 54 million in cash.

Following the acquisition, Ingenico will expand its presence in the banking channel, particularly via the ISO (Independent Sales Organizations) community. Hypercom’s customer base across different channels such as bankcard, multi-lane retail and services will benefit from Ingenico’s Telium range of products including contactless solutions.

In a recent development, Ingenico has teamed up with US provider of payment gateway and data security services Merchant Link to develop a joint product suite which combines the latters Transaction Vault tokenization technology with Ingenico’s On-Guard P2P encryption system for US merchants.
