Logica, RTM team up for hosted AML offering in Brazil

Wednesday 16 September 2009 11:06 CET | News

UK-based IT and business services company Logica has partnered Rede de Telecomunicações para o Mercado (RTM), a provider of telecommunications services in the Brazilian financial market.

Under the terms of the agreement between the parties, Logica is set to provide RTM with its HotScan payments filtering offering.

RTM currently provides an extranet for the Brazilian financial market, connecting over 500 financial institutions in a single operational environment. With the introduction of the CTF regulation, it was mandatory to deploy an anti-money laundering (AML) solution that fully integrates with SWIFT. RTM has thus entered a strategic alliance with Logica, which will allow RTM to host HotScan in its data centres and provide a sanctions filtering service to its financial institution customers in Brazil.

HotScan provides an automated filtering solution that can scale to handle increasing payment volumes and meets international regulatory requirements. In addition, the filter’s self-learning function allows banks lower the volume of manual checks and thus cut operational costs.
